We are pleased to be able to inform Members and all the friends of The Friends that our Hospice Unit continues to provide palliative care to those in need, and that we have, on occasions, had four patients in simultaneously. Over half of these were Greek Cypriot, the others were expatriates of British & other nationalities. In the traditional Hospice manner this care has been at no charge to the patients .
All costs of care, which is averaging around € 205 (CYP 120) per day, being met from our current collected funds, shop takings, fund raising events and contributions by generous donors.
THANKS TO YOU ALL.

FUND RAISING NOTES
1) Maureen and Trevor Gage continually raise money on their organized walks for the Hospice, plus they give out our literature. They strive to make enough each time to pay for a bed for a day. Check with them @ 26643079 for details of the next walk.

AN APPRECIATION :
While the main satisfaction for The Friends comes from providing the Hospice Service to those in need, it is nevertheless good for all our volunteers to know how much their work is appreciated by others.
The following letter was received from a relative of one of our patients, and is reproduced with his permission in anonymous form:
“ The Friends of Paphos Hospice
P.O. Box 60163
Paphos 8101- Cyprus
Dear .............
I write to thank you ...and all your remarkable colleagues ...for the generosity & loving care you gave my sister,..........., during her last days; it will ever be appreciated
Recompense is, of course, impossible but I hope you will accept the small cheque I enclose. It requires neither publicity nor acknowledgment
This letter is short, simply because there are no adequate words to express my thanks & admiration.
From the heart, sincerely;
Noel ...........”
